Satellite TV
Satellite dishes were always prohibited at Nassau Gardens until several years back when when a director installed one at his home. The rest of the Board and Property Manager refused to make him take it down, despite a huge hue and outcry by other owners. Instead, they eventually passed a policy that allowed him to keep his, and some others to install them depending on the orientation of their porch or patio. But a large number of owners may still not install one. That is discrimination.
When the 200 Block roof was repaired, someone decided to take down the master antenna for the complex. They never bothered to check with all the owners to see if anyone was still using it as a radio or TV antenna with digital converter box.
Now the question is why didn't they get Dish or Direct TV in here to bid to install satellite TV through the existing master antenna chases, so all members could have this benefit?
Pet Violations
In 2005, Management began eviction proceedings against one owner for violation of the Cooperative’s long-time no pets policy. However, they did not apply their decision to evict uniformly and equally, to many other members with illegal pets, including at least one Board member.
Parking Abuse
A director has been parking her second family car in my reserved courtyard spot for over a year, 24x7x365.

c'mon be realistic. if we don't pay them they gotta get their perks somehow
The whole pet thing was such a sham. You could not vote for a dog (even with a doctor's letter) and could not vote against a cat. How many directors do have cats anyway?
I saw that coming months before when they put up new signs prohibiting dogs from the property but not mentioning cats. Did they really think they were fooling anyone?
they never did release results of the survey orr which directors voted how on whatever the policy is
Regarding Satellite:
Over ten years ago, the Coop was investigating the installation of a Master Antenna. Nothing came of it. However, there was a form executed by NG dated November 14, 2001 "Resolution Regarding Antenna and Satellite Dish Restrictions" with Notification and Approval Form attached which was available to all of the members. When the master antenna option fell through, the property manager with approval of the Board gave the go-ahead for individuals interested to apply for approval to get a satellite dish. There was no favoritism involved that I know of as to who got what but perhaps other factors were involved, i.e., location, etc. With today's technology, FIOS is a better option for a complex this size but unfortunately, it's currently not available.
on the no pet policy it does not apply to the Federal Housing Fair Act on the Elderly and Disabilities. My husband and grandson who are both disabled are allowed to have this 5 lb dog which was requested prior to getting and done the correct way. Not by getting it then asking. Also your parking space that is assigned to you has not been utilized in many many years. A previous neighbor of yours parked their which you said was okay so when they moved they said my spouse should park there as he is on oxygen 24-7 and if you want your space to park just say so.
It is an ungodly place, evil people and mediocre love it here, good people with good morals hate it. This place is like purgatory, the pretentious nasty ill willed people delude themselves that their sin is good. As soon as I can afford it I am moving out of this pretty purgatory.
Real yappy dog in the 500 block. What happened to new pet policy?
We have a master antenna already, till she took it down when roofing 200 block.
Well if we don't have HUD anymore, then you can get a dog, and since the no subletting policy was changed due to the fact that the President of the boards son (whom is (or was) a subletter is now a shareholder. We can all sublet now. so the person that want's to move due to the ungodly place can move and sublet. Oh ya what happened to the money that the 2 actual shareholders put in. did they get it back, so did these 2 subletters pay their fee. Well, one of them I'm sure didn't have to pay anything, since he was subletting from his sister. I think this place is turning into Jefferson drive. So the B.O.D broke the rules and now has changed them. I guess we can do what we want now. Let them try to take anyone to court, it won't stand up.
